Prima guesthouse in de buurt van Dalvik. Zeer behulpzame en vriendelijke gastheer, die op het moment dat wij er verbleven bezig was het gebouw verder op te knappen. Wij waren op een dag na de enige gasten, dus hadden alle faciliteiten voor ons zelf: keuken met inventaris, toiletten en badkamers. Er staat ook een mooie verzorgde camping met speeltuin uit op het terrein. Campinggasten hebben hun eigen sanitair. Het gebouw ligt op ongeveer 5 km buiten Dalvik aan een verharde weg, in een vogelreservaat. In het plaatsje is een supermarkt, café en verschillenden restaurants. Heerlijk verblijf gehad!

This accommodation is simple yet refined and very useful and located on 805 just outside the town of Dalvik. We stayed here because the main campsite in the town was already closed for the season and there were no facilities. We were able to park the campervan in the parking lot, or in the grass if we chose, and we had access to many facilities here. We were able to wash and dry laundry, for 200 ISK per machine, private showers that were unlimited, kitchen with a large stove and sink for cooking and doing dishes, bathrooms that were very minimal, and a nice playground. You can also stay in their dorm room set up areas and they also have private rooms in another building. Owner was in and out of the property and we pretty much had the run of the place. Nice place to stay for an early departure for our ferry trip to the island of Grimsey.

The most amazing campsite I have found in Iceland. Set in the grounds of an old school the facilities are very good. Free WiFi, kitchen and washing area, clean showers and toilets. The only downside was the communal showers which brought back memories from my school days. There is a wonderful trail which begins from the campsite and takes you around across a river and into a forest. Beautiful wildlife.

Clean, nice rooms overlooking the countryside. Common equipped kitchen, bathroom and living room. Everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay we found. Fast wifi in room. Outdoors, children's playground and camp for tents. Very reasonable room rates, therefore we chose the room and did not use the tent 🙂 In addition, pleasant communication at the reception desk.

Best camp site on our Iceland trip. Good services, good internet. Beautiful location in a nature preserve. Cooking space, showers included. Not overly crowded.

We were hell bent on getting to Grimsey and crossing the arctic circle on our recent trip to Iceland. Thankfully this kind establishment was willing to rent us a room on the LAST night they were open. What's more is pre-scheduled activities forced us to arriive quite late, on the last night, a but late in the tourist season to be quite so far north. Which also meant we ended up driving through slow going weather conditions in the mountains to get there...my sincerest thanks to the woman who runs Husabakki for staying up for our arrival. This portion of our trip was amazing and would not have been possible without your assistance. ||||This is a simple hostel style location. We stayed in the main building, which operates as a hostel/B+B in the summer and, I think, an area school during the school year.||||Nice, convenient and affordable way to stay in Dalvik. Would love to go back and stay longer during a more hospitable time of the year for camping and hiking.
