We stayed at Laerkjakot and had a very pleasant experience. The cottage is cozy, clean, and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after exploring the area. It has a spacious dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with two single beds, which makes it ideal for families or small groups.||The location is very peaceful, about 8 km from Borgarnes, so you can enjoy the quiet surroundings while still being close to town.||The only downside for us were the mattresses, which were too soft and unfortunately gave us back pain in the mornings. With better mattresses, the stay would have been perfect.||Overall, it’s a very well-maintained and well-equipped accommodation that we would recommend.

Check in non in presenza, l' alloggio e le istruzioni personalizzate sono esposte fuori dalla reception. Abbiamo soggiornato in una mobilhome che abbiamo trovato pulita. Avevamo paura per i tanto vitipurati moscerini, ma francamente se non avessi letto le recensioni non ci avrei manco fatto caso. Dormito benissimo. Siamo stati fine luglio 2025

Advertised as cottages but actually static caravans, which was OK for us and nice to have two bedrooms. Well equipped, downsides we're the curtains weren't blackout, we were there in early July so 24-hour sunlight, and the beds were not very comfy.

Dobra, muszę być uczciwy. Opinie o tym miejscu przeczytaliśmy już dawno po tym jak mieliśmy już rezerwacje. Nie powiem, jechaliśmy tam trochę zestresowani co zastanówmy na miejscu. Proszono nas o check im przed 18, napisaliśmy że nie damy rady i dostaliśmy odpowiedź że nie ma problemu, instrukcje czekają na nas w budynku głównym ( więc pierwsza obawa o brak kontaktu się rozwiała, kontakt jest).
Dostaliśmy domek i okazało się że wszytko jest z nim w porządku. Był czysty i solidnie wysprzątany, pościel świerza, ręczniki na miejscu, było ciepło. Jedyna rzecz to nie potrafiliśmy się zamknąć od środka. Widok z domku był naprawdę ładny. Obiekt faktycznie pamiętaj może starsze czasy,ale nic złego nie możemy o nim powiedzieć.

Don’t stay here. We stayed in room 62. It was full of insects that bite and won’t leave you alone. The door doesn’t lock, anyone can come in and take your stuff. The Wifi didn’t work. The water from the sink and shower go straight to the ground, no treatment, nothing. One of the light bulbs from the living room was burned. The bedrooms didn’t have any blackout curtains, important during summer months. Pillows and mattresses were thin. Also on the window counters there were a lot of dead insects, they didn’t clean the place very well. The only nice thing was the view to the mountains.

Nach den ganzen Bewertungen waren wir etwas voreingenommen, jedoch ist es ganz in Ordnung.

Zimmer sind etwas runtergekommen, aber sauber. Größe ist passend.
Bettwäsche und Duschhandtücher riechen auch sehr gut.
Erstes Duschwasser das gar nicht stinkt. 😉

Service ist leider sehr schlecht. Es gibt keine erreichbare Telefonnummer, noch meldet sich keiner per E Mail.
Durch Zufall sind wir am Nachmittag vorbeigefahren und haben kurz jemanden gesprochen.
An der Tür der Rezeption hängt ein Plan mit Namen, wer in welchem Zimmer/Cottage oder Suite schläft.

Rather nice location, but still close to the main road.
No communication before arrival, the reservation system told us checkin only until 19h which i though was strange, I asked, no answer, so we stressed to arrive at 19h - just to find that nobody was there anyway and the cottage open.
The cottage was dirty - toilettes, kitchen, everything; and generally in a bad shape. All the houses had probably their best time in the 80's, and were not maintained since then. Everything is worn out and cheap. The windows didn't close, so the Gnitz came in and the bed was full of these nasty animals, and we were bitten the whole night. Much too expensive for what it was.

This place is an absolute disgrace. I walked in and walked right back out. The room reeked of rotting fish, was covered in bugs and black mold, had limited hot water, and the door didn’t even lock. It felt completely unsafe and unlivable.

The location was falsely advertised—nowhere near what was promised—and the front desk was completely unreachable. No one answered calls or showed up. I ended up booking another hotel last minute down the street, because there was no way I could stay here.

This place should be shut down, not listed as a hotel. Avoid at all costs.
