My experience at the Loft Hostel was exceptional! Firstly the staff are very friendly. The location of the hostel is awesome, right in city center next to rainbow road, great location for an affordable price. I stayed in a 8person shared room and had no issues during my stay. They also have a kitchen accessible to guests, where you can have a bin with your own food in the fridge, as well as free food that other travels leave behind. Very walkable to other locations and grocery is just down the street. I never had to use a taxi. Lastly, the bar and shared space at the top floor was very cozy, nice to sit up there in the early mornings and at night hang out with other travelers and play some games and get drinks at their bar. I highly recommend the Loft Hi Hostel as I believe you will have a great time. I was a solo traveler and had no trouble making friends during my stay! Thanks for having me Loft!

We stayed only for one night but honestly the best hostel I've ever been to. The common area is beautiful and offers drinks, games and books. They have a guest kitchen with shared food and drinks if you need them and the rooms are great! Excellent location too right next or very close to everything you need.

Weird their reception is not open 24 hours a day as it is a hostel, for people traveling on a budget. They forced me to wait outside for an hour at 7am in the cold while still dark and wouldn’t let me in till reception opened at 8am. Didn’t want to check in or store my luggage because I knew I couldn’t till 8, just wanted some warmth as nothing as else was open. Not to mention I had instructions for what to do if I was arriving “before hours”, but still wouldn’t let me in. Every other hostel I’ve stayed in has let people come inside early mornings (7am is not even that early in the grand scheme of things).

Amazing central hostel, stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. Fun events most evening to get to know other people, great bar and the staff were amazing and very helpful with local knowledge about things to see and do. Definitely would stay again!

I’ve never stayed in a hostel before, so this was my first experience. I spent two nights at “Loft – Hi Hostel” in Reykjavik, and it felt like a 7-star stay. The hostel is centrally located, making it a great choice in Reykjavik’s pricey hotel market. With restaurants, bars, and shopping nearby, and the bus station not too far away, getting around was a breeze.

The interior of the hostel was immaculate, and the kitchen was impressive, especially the “Free” basket where guests could leave items they didn’t need for others. The hostel also had a small library and an in-house bar. I stayed in a six-person room with an attached bathroom, and my roommates were friendly, respectful, and cool. One of them, a frequent guest, told me it was the best hostel in Reykjavik, and I couldn’t agree more.

My experience was incredibly fulfilling, and I returned to Canada with warm memories of both the hostel and Iceland.

Excellent hostel for solo travelers visiting Iceland that want to make some friends. I had such a great time here. I slept well in the 6 bed room. Wifi reception is good. I loved the rooftop bar with the solo travelers meetup. Location is perfect too.

Loft is perfectly located, has a very cozy and stylish bar at the top floor, an equipped guest kitchen and dorms with their own bathroom. It’s clean and functional, informal but curated and it made me feel home. 5 stars for the staff: I was helped through my stay with kindness and empathy and this made everything easier. Thank you!
