Una casa alquilada para siete personas, pero podían haberse alojado al menos dos más. Amplia, confortable, con camas cómodas, limpias, buenas almohadas, el baño es muy grande con ducha, bañera de hidromasaje y un frente de lavabos y espejo de pared a pared. Dispone de una zona con lavadora y secadora que nos vino fenomenal. La cocina muy bien equipada con microondas, horno, lavavajillas, cafetera con cápsulas, menaje completo. Y un salón muy amplio y comodo. Tiene una entrada para dejar los abrigos,zapatos y todo lo que no vayas a utilizar. Una ubicación excelente,con parrilla, tendedero, mesa y sillas, jardín... Es un lugar increíble alejado de Selfoss, eso sí. Te encuentras en plena naturaleza.

Excellent place to stay with a large family or group. There were 7 of us, and there would have been room for two more. The place is well thought through, has everything you might need in the kitchen, and has a welcoming atmosphere.

This is a great place to stay. It's completely car dependent and a lovely country accommodation. It's about an hours drive from Reykjavik. My top tip for travelers arriving to KEF early morning, if you think you're going to require an early check in either book an additional night or check well in advance with the host to see if she can accommodate you. |Travelers less experienced with dogs may have some difficulty with the two pups on location. They're both well behaved but I had my toddler and the Border Collie still has some puppy energy. Once I sorted out how to both teach my toddler how to behave around the dogs and how to play with the dogs we had no trouble. I would not mention but I did not realize the property had dogs, which seems really silly now because we spent so much time with them and the printed brochure for the property even has photos of the dogs. Interacting with the dogs became an unexpected highlight of the trip. They are very sweet and try very hard to understand English, even though it isn't their first language! |Thorey is a very kind and welcoming host. We would definitely stay again if our travels take us out that way. |Another traveler tip is to ask for a tutorial on the lights. We found them difficult. The lights turn on fine but there is a dim feature I never quite figured out and there are a lot of switches. The cottage is well equipped. Our party included a young child, three mid aged adults and an older adult. We all felt the facilities exceeded expectations. Having a small child with us and a very long trip ahead of us after this stay I very much appreciated the washer/dryer situation.

We stayed here in 2012 and had a wonderful week-long stay in June. The setting is peaceful and stunningly beautiful, our hostess Thorey and her son were warm, welcoming, and helpful. The house is clean and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay, all at a great price. The location is convenient to the center of Selfoss for groceries, etc. And the house is convenient as a home base to explore all the wonders of southern Iceland, which will take your breath away. Since our trip, we talk often about returning and are certain we will. The majesty of the landscape is matched only by the warmth of the people. Even their horses are laid back and friendly! If you've never ridden before, I recommend starting on an Icelandic horse, especially here at Hofdatun. You'll be so glad you did! We can't wait to return. Oh, if you go in spring or summer months, bring an eye-shade for sleeping--the sun doesn't really set there that time of year, and you'll want to get plenty of sleep to energize for your adventures.

Just ok. We chose to stay here because of the location, but what really made it this one vs others in the area was the hot tub and horses on site. Well - hot tub is out of order & new owner since we reserved means no horses either. Kitchen is well stocked though and there are a few duplos for the kids.

Money well spent. No Aurora though, because the sky were covered all night. The place is amazing, we went there to explore Iceland and after tired adventure, we go back to a cozy warm house.

Fantastic location and great to come back to comfort after a full day of site seeing. Money well spent. Comfortable and spacious. Everything available in terms of cooking and eating utensils.
