Nice guesthouse with all the facilities you need. Rooms are comfy and clean with a window looking out over the farmland. Shared bathrooms and kitchen are spacious and clean. Breakfast included was good with a nice addition of locally made items.

Nice cozy farmstay. The room was nice and clean but with no kitchen. However breakfast was available. The breakfast was well stocked with a good choice of food. The staff well constantly check on the food to ensure the plates were no empty. There was horses nearby and we managed to get up close to some horses.

È una fattoria con delle stanze sia nella guest house con bagno in comune sia separate con bagno privato. La cucina è in comune e offrono vari servizi tra cui la lavanderia per pochi soldi. Bonus hanno una gelateria che il gelato con prodotti locali ed è pure buono.

Really comfortable guesthouse with clean spacious room, a private bathroom and delicious fresh breakfast (their breakfast products are fresh products from their farmhouse!) Also offers great northern light scenes, and complimentary viewing for feeding/milking of their farmhouse animals.

Huge shoutout to Natalia too for being such a welcoming, friendly and helpful staff.

A perfect place to stay at such reasonable rates, highly recommended.

Einfaches Guesthouse in bester Lage am Mývatn-See. Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsküche und -bad gebucht. Die Küche war ausreichend ausgestattet, die Qualität der Töpfe und Pfannen könnte etwas besser sein. Das Bad war sauber, das Wasser riecht wie überall in der Region nach Schwefel.
Im Preis mit inbegriffen war ein sehr leckeres Frühstücksbüffet, unter anderem mit Lavabrot (Rúgbrauð), selbstgemachten Marmeladen, Fisch, Müsli, etc.
Außerdem durfte man im Stall beim Kühe melken zuschauen!

Basic rooms, but very clean, tidy and practical. The hostel area has a nice kitchen with all basic amenities, as well as a sitting and dining area. The bathrooms and shower rooms were very clean. Breakfast was pretty decent and more than what we expected. Overall, a very decent stay!

During our recent trip to Iceland (early May), my wife and I stayed for two nights at the Skútustadir Guesthouse, a farmstay just off the Ring Road. We had many nice accommodations during our trip but this place was my favorite. The rooms are comfortable and shared kitchen/eating areas are very nice and functional. The breakfast (included) is wonderful and includes a nice selection of local products. With the help of one of the staff, we were able to connect with a local shop nearby to purchase smoked wild trout to enjoy for the rest of our trip. The owners are helpful and informative – we learned about a few birding and hiking spots that added to our enjoyment of the Myvatn area. Highly recommend!
