I recently stayed at this incredible hotel, and I can’t recommend it enough! The hotel is directly connected to the Blue Lagoon, offering exclusive access to its own private lagoon for guests only, which was a real treat. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect during our stay. The hotel was impeccably clean, which added to the overall comfort.

One of the perks of staying here was the premium access to the Blue Lagoon. We didn’t have to wait in line, which made the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. The location, amenities, and overall service made this a truly memorable experience. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

The Blue Lagoon Silica Hotel is so dreamy. Even the hallways look like an architectural masterpiece! The rooms are so well-designed and comfortable, and the bathroom has heated floors. The view from my patio was surreal. Looking out the window was literally exciting!

Staying at the Silica Hotel, you get access to the Blue Lagoon, but unfortunately, we were too tired to go swimming when we were there, so we just napped in the room! But, the benefit is the rooms were spacious and cozy with beds you can easily lay in all day.

The hotel also offers private Lagoon access and a lot of generous amenities for guests.

The parking lot was easy to navigate, and the hotel is close to the airport, which is a plus.

The best part was that the staff was a pleasure to interact with. Check-in and check-out were so easy! And we couldn’t figure out how to turn on the lights in our room, but we were quickly helped!!

I think going, seeing, and staying at the Blue Lagoon is a must-do in Iceland!

This hotel is very relaxing and even when it is fully booked, you hardly see any guests in the common areas or the lagoon. This means that the Silica lagoon is almost private. My friend and I absolutely loved it. The staff are super friendly and helpful and our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and spacious for two friends to share. The breakfast was delicious, with nice items like chia pudding and passion fruit halves. We didn't try the hot food. Negative points would be that the room was VERY warm at night and even sleeping with the window or door open, didn't cool it enough. The pillows are the light fluffy types that have me double folding to try to sleep, but really it was the heat that led to a less than adequate sleep. ||Your stay includes access to the Blue Lagoon, which is much busier, but has some extra spaces, such as steam rooms. They do manage the whole place so much better than you might imagine, with very clean changing areas and showers, robes and towels, but I could happily have just used the Silica lagoon. The walk across is a nice 6 minute walk (the shuttle bus honestly doesn't seem worth it, as you still have to walk a few minutes outdoors from the the Blue Lagoon car park) and the walk is very pretty if it is a clear day. |There is no restaurant at Silica, but they will book Lava for you when you book the room and there is a cafe with nice lunch items all day at the Blue Lagoon.|Overall, a wonderful stay, with some minor problems.

Upon arrival we were very surprised to see a huge power plant next to the hotel. Love and support Iceland’s clean power supply, but that needs to be disclosed on the website. You are surrounded by machinery, smoke stacks, and other construction supplies. The pictures show just a hotel in the middle of the lava fields, this is 100% inaccurate. At check in, we were told to get the luggage cart and brought all bags in… again fine, but for $800 a night you would expect a little more service. The front desk sat there and watched us struggle to lift the cart over the threshold. We sat in the hotel one day and not once were asked if we would like a water or anything. We stayed at $200 a night hotels in Iceland and the services/accommodations were way more nice. Our room was clean but the upgraded view was a huge disappointment. It was a murky puddle overlooking a road. Again, pictures on website were misleading. Also, there needs to be additional communication prior to arrival about the pending eruption. I had seen on the safety websites that there was a risk nearby, but not being from there you don’t have a good idea how close that is to Silica. Breakfast was good, but compared to the amazing fresh food we had in Iceland, it would not having me coming back for it. So many beautiful places to stay in Iceland. We would recommend getting a day pass here knowing you have a private lagoon but it is a construction site.

Loved my three nights at Silica. The staff is superb, from housekeeping to front desk. Enjoyed the hotel’s lagoon which was vastly more private than the crowded Blue Lagoon. This is the second hotel on the property, the Retreat is also nearby, at a higher price point. However, I enjoyed the cozy environment, the nicely-sized and well appointed rooms. I read several complaints surrounding price point and lack of “things to do”. This is a spa retreat. There is no tv in the rooms and the theme is detachment and relaxation. If you need constant stimulation or a more resort-Disney environment, this isn’t for you. However, it was a glorious time of year to go for your s, not crowded, relatively quiet. Also, the breakfast is quite good, if you get up before 10. I would absolutely go back!

Our stay at Silica Hotel in Iceland was fantastic! This quiet retreat offered premium access to the Blue Lagoon, plus its own stunning lagoon that was simply outstanding. The breakfast was incredible—an extensive spread with everything you could imagine, all incredibly tasty.

The only downside was the occasional sulfur smell around the hotel and in our room, which is just part of Iceland's geothermal nature. However, the exceptional service more than made up for it. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating; they even had our room ready before 3 PM, complete with a lovely chocolate and fruit plate and a sweet birthday note for me.

Surrounded by volcanic landscapes, the hotel made us feel like we were on Mars! Overall, Silica Hotel is a wonderful choice for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Iceland in comfort. Highly recommended!
