Beautiful hotel, lovely common living area, delicious generous breakfast, but most importantly the most hospitable and kind host (assuming she was the owner). Such attention to make us feel welcome, little desserts ready at reception upon arrival (delicious too), gave us dinner recommendations and even booked us the table. A wonderful experience!

Hotel Karolina ist ein nettes kleines Hotel im Herzen der Stadt. Eignet sich sehr gut für Ausflüge und vieles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Wir blieben zwei Nächte und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind modernisiert, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist die Küche mit Wasserkocher, Ofen und Herd, die mitgenutzt werden darf. Eine Mikrowelle gab es leider nicht. Frühstück hatten wir nicht (kostet extra), daher können wir das nicht beurteilen. Schnelles und stabiles WLAN gibt es natürlich kostenlos. Preis-Leistung war hier wirklich gut. Hotel Karolina war pro Nacht mit Abstand das günstigste Hotel unserer Reise. Was uns dennoch nicht so gut gefallen hat: Das ganze Haus ist extrem hellhörig. Sei es die Haustüre, die Treppen oder die Nachbarn. Man hört hier alles. Das nervte auf Dauer schon. Außerdem gibt es zu wenige Parkplätze vor dem Haus, sodass wir (und andere) teilweise an der Straße parken mussten. Letztlich fanden wir es zudem ein wenig umständlich, dass wir in einem anderen Hotel einchecken mussten. Alles in allem dennoch empfehlenswert, wenn man Snaefellsnes erkunden will.

Room number 4 is a terrible tiny space of 9 square meters, where 2 persons hardly move. No way to open a suitcase without putting it on the bed. This can be easily seen from the images attached.|Of course when I booked it on Booking.com a nice room of 13 square meters with a small table at the end of the bed was shown. |It's is a frode: this room is acceptable to host only one person.|On top of this, room number 4 doesn't open on a corridor but on a big common room where people use to talk until late at night and start preparing breakfast early in the morning.|The bed is worn and creaking. |Linen are good and maybe the other rooms are ok. But considering the limited number of rooms (6 or 7) the risk to have number 4 is high. I booked the room 6 months in advance and I paid it 268€.

Cozy and modern bed and breakfast with cute rooms and a nice common area. We requested breakfast every morning and the nice lady put out a beautiful spread in the common area for us.
