This so-called “family” business is completely incompetent.

They don’t check the cars before handing them over, the 24/7 assistance doesn’t work, and it took us four visits before we were finally able to rent a car.

We had an issue on the road at 8 PM and called assistance eight times without any answer.

When we returned the keys and explained the problem we encountered, they acted in extremely bad faith and told us they had heard the calls but chose not to answer. Then, they started making excuses to avoid taking responsibility.

We explained that it was unacceptable for a 24/7 service not to respond, as it could have been dangerous if the issue had been more serious. Their response? They told us we could have sent an email and that, in other agencies, the service would have been charged (which at least means there would have been a service).

Cherry on top: The woman with thick eyeliner asked me why I was driving at night and where I had slept, implying that fatigue is also dangerous. (I’m certain they wouldn’t have dared make such comments if I were a man.)

They then aggressively told me to leave without offering any apologies.

In short, I strongly recommend avoiding this company and instead choosing more serious providers like Europcar or Hertz. While they may be more expensive, they will at least ensure you have a stress-free trip.

Good communication
Waiting for us right off the cruise ship in bright orange with the car. Gave us some great advice on driving and parking and within minutes we were on our way. Told us where we could park overnight. Super easy drop off right at the ship. Could not have been easier.

Was able to book a car here last minute at the cruise terminal after our Budget rental couldn’t find our booking. hyundai i20 they gave us was in great condition and had great gas mileage. Was also able ti return to car by the cruise terminal.

Mal servicio. Primero, la página no envía correo comprobante de haber pagado el alquiler del coche, ( vaya web) tardan en responder, y tube que insistir educadamente para saber que yo había realizado el pago. Alquilé el coche con el mejor seguro que ellos ofrecen, por una tormenta nos cambiaron la fecha de llegada a Akureyri . Con 3 días de antelación Les he enviado dos correos contando la situación y ni responden ¿ sabéis porqué? Para quedarse el dinero y eso que pague el seguro. Podéis ver en las reseñas de atrás que le pasó lo mismo a otros clientes y se quedan con el dinero. A mi no me respondieron ni para cambiarme la fecha. Ahora saldrá el hjdp dando explicaciones para quedar bien. Típico de sinvergüenzas. Ve a mi país para que veas como se trata a los clientes y verás que te irá mejor 👍

Arrived a day early in Akureyri port due to weather and reached out to Akureyri car rental which I had a reservation for the following day. After walking to their office from Port (15 minutes) we arrived and talked with them about where to get the car the next day. The said we could take the car early ( that day) and park it at the cruise port for free. So, I paid for one day and got a free additional day. To add to their hospitality we updated them that we would be leaving port atv7pm instead ofv5 and they said we could keep the car longer. What a great company. I definitely recommend them. They are good honest people which are hard to find in the world today. Thanks Akureyri car rental.
