Not the biggest waterfall in Iceland but a really nice one. The road to it is not marked but found it thanks to googlemaps. Really liked the surrounding area and the waterfall itself. It might be hard to drive to it over winter so prepare for 10 min walk if that is the case

Waterfall off the beaten path. Easy to find with everybody else’s information. No construction and no gate in April 2023.
BUT: don’t attempt unless you have 4 wheel drive with high clearance and off road driving experience. Loose fist sized rocks with soggy ground underneath.

See my other listings for Beljandi waterfall access road and access gate. Know that Google shows the whole highway slightly out of position, which makes it hard to find the turnoff. Turn on the access road, then navigate the construction site to the access gate. You have to cross a very shallow stream to get to the gate. We didn't notice until after, but many people appear to drive past the gate, almost all the way to the waterfall. It only has a simple wire loop holding it closed, so I'd recommend opening it, driving through, stopping to close it, then moving on to where (most of) the tracks stop. It'll save you a 30-40 minute roundtrip walk and there's no evidence that the owners disapprove.

Drive off road till the orange communication pole, then look on ur gps and walk on the kind of off road u see and u ll be there in 10 minutes

A beautiful waterfall located a little off the beaten path in the east region. Once there after a short walk, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the roaming sound of the beautiful waterfall in peace. Maybe have a little picnic if the weather is nice.
In the summer, the ground is covered with blueberry and crowberry bushes to pick from and enjoy.

Beljandi er í Breiðdalsá í Breiðdal skammt frá bænum Brekkuborg. Leiðin þangað er malarvegur dálítið óslétt. Farið er út af breiðdalsveg inn á suðurbyggðarveg númer 964 og 966.af þeim veg er slóð að ánni. Stutt ganga frá bílastæði. Ekki mikið að sjá en allt í lagi fyrir smá göngutúr.

Uwielbiam tę okolicę i zawsze, kiedy jestem na wschodzie Islandii tu przyjeżdżam. Wodospad śliczny i bardzo mało znany. Urokliwe miejsce!
