Wir waren im Guesthouse |Die Zimmer sind gross.|Alles neu ..||Aber leider sehr kalt und kark eingerichtet..| |Keinen Fernseher und leider ging das Wi-Fi auch nicht.||Die Kissen riechen etwas alt ,|könnte man bei gelegenheit einmal wechseln oder waschen.| Vorhänge sind leider sehr lichtdurchlässig und das Zimmer ist dadurch sehr hell auch nachts.||Das ist ein zusätzlicher Minuspunkt.||Würde ich nicht mehr buchen

Unsere erste Unterkunft auf Island. Ich bin wirklich sehr positiv überrascht. Man musste sich zwar gegenüber beim The Hill Hotel anmelden und den Schlüssel holen, aber somit hat man gleich gesehen wo das Frühstück ist. Wir waren 2 Nächte. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer geräumig und sehr sauber. Badezimmer groß. Das Frühstück hatte eine große Auswahl und war sehr gut. Kann die Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

The guesthouse is part of the hotel next door and they clearly make a big difference in terms of love and care. The room was spacious but clearly in a bad shape. The shower water was impossible to get to an OK temperature, several appliances were broken, the room was 25°C no matter what we did with the thermostat, the bedsheets were not the cleanest and when we told that there was no soap in the soap dispenser, the manager kindly told us we could go to the supermarket to buy some...

Some good points :
- the guesthouse is ideally located to roam the gold ring and more
- the staff (outside the manager) was very kind and helpful
- the breakfast was great

Aktuell ist das Guesthouse wegen Renovierung geschlossen, was erst auf den zweiten Blick zu erkennen ist. Wir mussten erst etwas suchen, da auch das Guesthouse-Schild abmontiert ist. Dann haben wir den Mietwagen halt am unterhalb gelegenen Parkplatz abgestellt und am ebenfalls geschlossenen Bistro einen Zettel entdeckt, dass wir uns an die Rezeption des gegenüberliegenden Hotels The Hill at Fludir wenden sollen. Wer im Guesthouse gebucht hat, wird im Moment im Sporthotel The Hill untergebracht und kriegt dadurch ein Update. Dort gibt's nette Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal, ein Restaurant samt Bar und nen Hot Tub, der für die Hausgäste inklusive ist. Also Ende gut, alles gut, nachdem wir uns um 20.30 Uhr kurz Sorgen gemacht hatten, wo wir für diese Nacht auf die Schnelle noch ein Zimmer herkriegen. 😉

The rooms are clean etc. However, nobody tells you that check in is at the property across the street "The Hill", also the window curtains are very thin, so with now a lot of day light, not possible to get it dark in the bight in your room; the Wifi was broken, and there was no compensation for that.

Not a lot of love for the guesthouse. Shower was really cold, hot, cold. Beds are really great and breakfast is excellent. If you do not wish to take a shower the place is ok.
