Was able to see Aurora from the guesthouse/tub. It was beautiful. However, there's only one tub, first come first serve. One the first nights, someone stayed there for hours. Fortunately, we stayed there for more than one day, was able to use the tub on 2nd day. House is equipped with a decent amount of kitchen essentials.

A very nice and large appartment with complete kitchen (toaster, keetle, micowaves, coffee maker) and new and cozy toilet. Beds are confortable, heating is good and cleanliness is perfect. The owner is very kind and the appartment is close to Godafoss fall and Myvatn lake. You can park for free just outside, next to the appartment. There is no TV but wifi is available.|The road 1 in this area is sometimes closed in winter (we visit the area in April and we had to wait 5 or 6 hours until they opend it).

Prima plek om te verblijven (basement apartment) met drie personen. Zeer schoon, goed te vinden en vriendelijke eigenaresse. Het is een kelder en daarmee een laag plafond waardoor we regelmatig ons hoofd hebben gestoten. Inrichting niet optimaal, geen plek om met z’n drieën even te zitten en spelletje te spelen (keukentafel staat vast aan de muur).

Guesthouse Hvítafell, Cabin No.1, 650 Laugar, Iceland – the cabin looks brand new and probably opened during 2023 – perfectly clean. In my view it’s been built to a high standard. The large window at the back overlooks woodland and the outlook is very pleasant however, overlooking the valley at the front the windows in the bathroom and front door are high up and small and overlook other buildings; I’m disappointed with the view. There is a hot-tub and it’s warm. I’ve just realised that there isn’t a TV in the room – bring your own entertainment!

Such an incredible little spot, tucked away from the main road but easy enough to get to. Kitchenette was well stocked with utensils and appliances. The view from the back of the room was such a beautiful and peaceful scene. The hot tub was amazing too, even in the -13 degree weather!

Wij zijn hier 3 nachten geweest en waren erg tevreden. De bedden waren erg goed. Fijne badkamer en er was een kleine set om te koken. Daarnaast kon je gebruik maken van de gezamenlijke hot tub waar je makker met 4 man in kan. De eigenaresse was erg vriendelijk en hebben haar ook even ontmoet. Absoluut een aanrader om hier te slapen als je het Myvatn meer en de diamant route wilt doen wat wij gedaan hebben.

Love the house and the hot tub! We planned to stay there for 1 night but due to snowstorm we cannot proceed our travel to north so I contacted the host to stay for another night. The room is nice, clean, and the kitchen is well equipped. Its snowing on early October 😁

Very cozy, quiet and clean. There is a very small store nearby and the unit had a small kitchen, so it was nice after a long day to pick up a couple of items and have dinner in the unit and relax. Hot tub was a nice touch and there is a public pool very close if you are interested. Would recommend.
