Fantastic hike, not to hard but if you include the full circle it will make it a fair day hike. Beware of strong winds, that is almost for sure that there will be strong wind on this mountain.

This is a good location for hiking/casual climbing just outside Borgarnes. The summit is only 800m tall, but it does give you a panoramic view of the inlet and the Borgarnes cityscape.

You will want to start your ascent at 64.515926, -21.884802. There is a small utility road east of the ring road between Hofn and Borgarnes, and access to this road is blocked by a gate. There you can park your car and continue on foot. Once you go past the gate, you will see a clearly marked path on your right. This path leads to an electric fence which can only be crossed via a small wooden ladder nearby.

The ascent can be steep near the summit; trekking poles and microspikes are recommended in the winter.

Expect to spend four or five hours if you wish to summit and descend.
