We hadden 6 maanden geleden 2 kamers geboekt. We kregen 1 kamer op verdieping 3 en 1 op verdieping 1, maar wat een verschil in kwaliteit.. het is een self-check-in hotel, dus verwacht geen menselijk contact. De kamer op verdieping 1 heeft zijn beste tijd wel gehad. De vloer en de plinten staan bol van de vochtschade door het slechte ontwerp van de douche. Het is prima voor 1 overnachting omdat je moet vliegen vanaf KEF Airport, maar daar is ook alles mee gezegd.

This hotel is close-ish to the airport and overlooks the harbour. It’s a self service hotel (so check with them early for the details of getting into your room). A lovely server in the restaurant was able to help us when I didn’t get the email with the check in information.

The room was clean & beds comfy. The long shower curtain helps to prevent the shower water from flying all over the room but it gets slimy.

Primo punto.Il servizio di early check in non era disponibile.ti scrivono che è soggetto a disponibilità ma siamo arrivati e pur essendo libera la camera a noi assegnata con ci è stato concesso di entrare.
Una volta entrati la camera era sporca, capelli sulla biancheria del letto ma soprattutto una volta aperta la porta del bagno e’ uscita una forte puzza di urina che neanche ai bagni pubblici, tutto il bagno era impregnato uno schifo vero.
Per fortuna siamo rimasti una sola notte.complimenti ci sapete fare con i clienti !

The Hotel was in a nice area - close to the sea front so we had some lovely walks in the evening. Close enough to the town but not much to see there!||The Hotel itself was very 'unusual'!! There was no receptionist - if I needed to contact them they offered a 'virtual receptionist' who wasn't able to help me. However, I was able to get through to them on the phone. It was a bit confusing in relation to gaining entry to our room! I booked through booking.com - I was emailed by them a code to get in through the main door but I wasn't told that the same code opened the room door! Which code didn't come into operation until 3.00pm so we had to wait outside for the room to be opened!||There were some steps just inside the door which was a bit awkward as we had heavy luggage. The room was clean and spacious. However, I didn't like the towels in the bathroom - they were grey and hard!!! We did get some lovely free toiletries which was a nice bonus!||There is a kettle with tea making facilities - but no milk! It was handy having a fridge but it took a while for the door to stayed closed!!||We had to keep the curtains closed all the time as there was a large street light outside which kept the room very bright!||The advertisement on booking.com was very misleading - 'private balcony' (it was shared with other rooms and divided by a partition, there was a table but no chairs so we couldn't make use of it!). We were also lead to believe that there is a free shuttle to the airport. It is also advertised in their booklet in the room. However, having contacted them they said they don't offer that anymore and just hadn't updated their information!!!||It was grand for one night - we didn't get breakfast. We left early on a Monday morning - the restaurant doesn't open on Mondays!||It was exactly 9 minutes taxi drive from the airport so that was good.

If you are a high maintenance traveler, i.e., the $35 taxi from the airport, the lack of a bell-boy, or no creamer for the room coffee ruins your whole day, stay elsewhere. ||I on the other hand enjoyed a nice hotel, with a fabulous restaurant, ideally located along a bay with a fabulous harbor side view and walking path that extended for miles. It was at the end of the main drag into a postcard beautiful town with great restaurants. Also the festival was going on that weekend. ||I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was our last night's stay in Iceland. It was an easy check in with a code access. No staff were there upon our arrival. You have to remember to open the window of the room as it was a bit warm, even in the morning. Most places we found were like this in Iceland. A fan would have been helpful to regulate the temperature. The room had a nice counter with tea and coffee options. There was also a fridge and a safe. I was also able to store my luggage, but unsecured with video camera recording (I had no issues). Checkout was the issue. My sister's plane left earlier, so she left before I did. Checkout time was 11am - the cleaning staff opened the door to the room over 2hrs before checkout - no knock, no "I'm sorry". I figured it was a mistake, but then they opened the door again, no knock, no apology, one hour before checkout. Since the rooms have pin code access, I wasn't able to lock the door since staff have access to the door code. After the 2nd time, I put a bench up against the door. I probably wouldn't return here because of this. The taxi service was good and at a fair price.

Points à améliorer

Isolation phonique défaillante : Tous les bruits des chambres adjacentes sont audibles
Propreté questionnable : La salle de bain nécessiterait un nettoyage plus approfondi ainsi que la chambre
Maintenance négligée : Fenêtre qui ne ferme pas correctement, système de ventilation en mauvais état
Entretien général : Équipements poussiéreux, décoration vieillotte, entrée surchargée
Ambiance peu accueillante : L'atmosphère générale de l'établissement manque de chaleur
Personnel peu aimable : Altercation avec une personne du restaurant (?) qui était à la réception. Elle nous a répondu "don't talk to me" de manière très désagréable alors que nous posions poliment une question concernant notre chambre

Conclusion:
Cet hôtel convient pour une nuit de transit grâce à sa proximité avec l'aéroport, mais ne s'attend pas à un séjour confortable. Le rapport qualité-prix reste discutable compte tenu des problèmes de propreté et de maintenance. À réserver uniquement si vous cherchez un hébergement pratique pour une escale.

Extremely disappointed in this "hotel".
Note: We booked with Expedia - Don't use them either. We had looked at reviews online prior to our trip, and Hotel Duus had pretty high ratings (8/10+). When we arrived at the hotel, our room had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. The sheets were filthy, and there was human hair all over the bedding. We requested the room be cleaned, and someone came and changed the bedding and light cleaning. We came back in and did a closer inspection, and the room was still filthy. Dental floss on the floor in the bathroom, the towels were dusty and covered in hair, the windowsills were covered in dirt, and the fan in the bathroom looked like it was covered in mold. In addition, this hotel DOES NOT have any internal locks, so if someone has the code to your room, they can enter. We chose not to stay here as we were disgusted. We reached out to the hotel and they will not refund us, and have been fighting with Expedia who says they are bound by the hotels policy and won't refund us either.
