Absolutely fantastic place!

I was in Reykjavik with my family, two kids, and my parents. The visit to Þröstur’s place was more than simply seeing some arcades. It was a whole nostalgia trip, an experience, and a museum visit. As long as you are minimally interested, he could speak for hours about his arcade machines, how they operate, and all the work he had to do to bring them to perfect condition.

Don't be afraid to come with the family. I thought the kids might not be too interested in such an “ancient machine” for them, but quite the opposite. Even my parents, from the '60s, thoroughly enjoyed the visit despite not having touched one arcade in decades.

Book in advance, and don't hesitate to send him a message. He is really nice and always tries to please his visitors.

This place is a nostalgic wonderland! I was so lucky to go there with a group from work and we loved it. You don't need to have been a nerd in the 80's and 90's but it helps! Þröstur is the perfect host with interesting stories about every single artifact in there. On top of all of that, you can also play the pin ball machines! 🤟

Had a fantastic evening here after booking with a group of work mates. The owner was very friendly and made us feel super welcome. We were able to bring our own beers and had an absolute blast on the old school arcade machines!

It's not open to the public. You need to book in advance I believe, but there are no signs outside to help you if you end up here by accident thinking Google maps is helping you find a fun place for the kids for a little bit.
