This is the first 1 star review I’ve ever had to post. My wife and I were sent the incorrect self check in information for room 18 and found someone sleeping in the room when we arrived (we even had their security code and were able to open their door). We called the emergency number with no response. As it was late at night, we ended up sleeping in our car. In the morning, we went to the associated Hotel Austur and the manager Yann was very kind, apologetic, and offered a refund through hotels.com. It has been 4 weeks and we have not yet received our refund despite reaching out to the hotel multiple times ourselves and through hotels.com. I am very disappointed as Yann seemed like a decent man and even shook my hand.

Bisher mit großem Abstand die schlechteste Unterkunft, die wir auf Island hatten. Zimmer absolut ungeheizt vorgefunden, wirkt alles sehr dunkel, nicht schallisoliert, Badezimmer ist so naja, Wasserkocher und Dusche mit Schimmel. Check in per Code ohne Personal. Nachts fängt alles an zu brummen,sodass man nicht schlafen kann. Heizung lässt sich erst nach Stunden abstellen, sodass wir mit heißer Heizung und offenem Fenster „schlafen“ mussten. Zu guter letzt riecht dann auch noch alles nach Fischresten (vermutlich aus der Lokalität direkt daneben). Und und und

Zimmer liegen mitten am Hafen , es ist insgesamt Recht laut Zimmer ist sehr spartanisch eingerichtet in Badezimmer gibt es mal wieder keine Haken um die handtücher aufzuhängen .... Die Kissen im Bett sind ein Witz, die sind so flach, da hätte man auch ein Handtuch nehmen können, hätte den gleichen effekt.Das Frühstück war ok. Nicht die grösste Auswahl, aber man ist satt geworden.

Dreckiges Zimmer mit Schimmel in der Dusche, am Duschvorhang und im Wasserkocher. Nachts konnten wir aufgrund eines lauten Summens und der Lautstärke von draußen nicht schlafen. Die schlechteste Unterkunft in unserem Islandurlaub.

Je ne peux que déconseiller cet établissement, tant pour son approche rigide que pour la manière condescendante dont j’ai été traitée suite à une demande d’annulation.

Ma réservation était certes non annulable et non remboursable, ce que je ne conteste pas. Cependant, un changement imprévu de mon itinéraire a rendu impossible mon passage dans cette région de l’Islande. J’ai donc formulé une demande courtoise, expliquant ma situation et sollicitant un geste commercial.

Malgré cela — et en dépit des nombreux avis récents faisant état de problèmes d’hygiène qui ont renforcé mes doutes — le gestionnaire a opposé une fin de non-recevoir, avec une réponse sèche et condescendante, sans la moindre once d’empathie.

Les critiques en ligne sont qualifiées d’"extrêmes", balayées sans considération, et seuls les clients "silencieux" sont considérés comme valables selon eux. Une vision pour le moins inquiétante de l’hospitalité aujourd’hui.

Aucun effort réel, hormis une offre de crédit inutilisable (je ne compte pas retourner en Islande prochainement), et aucun recul face aux retours pourtant nombreux et récurrents.

Je regrette sincèrement d’avoir réservé dans un établissement aussi peu soucieux de ses clients. Mon conseil : prenez le temps de lire les avis — surtout les plus critiques — ils sont très révélateurs.

The room itself was okay, although the TV didn't work which wasn't the end of the world but the more annoying problem was the fire alarm went off in the morning for all the units which woke us up. It was easy enough to walk up to the hotel to get help and they were kind and helpful but it went off again shortly after they fixed it. It sounded like it was a fault that had happened before if folks took a long shower, or perhaps some other issue at-hand. Other than that, the hotel for breakfast was nice and the room itself was fine.

Really a great place to stay. Our refrigerator didn't work on arrival, but called the service number and they *immediately* came to fix it. The room was clean and generally in good repair. The only *minor* issue was that it's located near the town bar. On the night we were there, the bar had a pretty loud group who was up until 3 am carrying on. Not the hotel's fault, but worth noting.
