The lounge on the ground floor is indeed very good, and the breakfast is also acceptable. Sadly, the room and bathroom situation really destroyed it. There was not a single table or wardrobe in the room. You couldn't even sit on the bed because of the tilted roof, so you would always have to go downstairs to the lounge. Like I said, the lounge itself is good, but if there is there is only one person being loud, you will always have to go to the nearest bar. Overall, there were so many little things that weren't thought of, like the fact that there are no towels in the bathroom(only in the room itself). 🤦

Sehr schönes Guesthouse direkt im Zentrum des Ortes.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad (Dusche, Toilette, winzigstes Waschbecken).

Zu unserer großen Überraschung gab es auch eine sehr große Küche.

Die Küche ist voll ausgestattetet mit Ofen, Spülmaschine (wird vom Personal bedient), Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Toaster, etc.

Was die Küche nicht hat sind Töpfe und Pfannen. Für uns voll ok, da das Hotel damit auch nicht wirbt.

Aber eine Pizza kann man sich z.B. jederzeit backen.

Kaffee und Tee sind jederzeit gratis verfügbar.

Das Frühstück muss man separat dazu buchen, wir waren aber Selbstversorger, daher können wir es nicht beurteilen.

Wissen sollte man, dass der Zugang nicht barrierefrei ist.

Die Rezeption ist ebenfalls nicht im Gebäude, sondern im Schwesterhotel, 100m entfernt.

Das alles wird aber sehr schön bereits bei der Buchung erklärt.

Very nice and cozy old house with good beds and warm atmosphere. Good breakfast waits ready for you in the morning, made with care by an employee. Very nice staff. There is only one thing that comes in mind they could do better, we were a bit lost when we arrived at the house, because information about checkin in at another house were not visible from outside, so we had to look it up on the homepage.

The guesthouse is a lovely building with a shared common area. The room was decent size and clean. But there’s a few issues to note: wood in our room was very weak. Some broken items in the room. Checkin is at a different building with only one staff person so can take a while if they are busy. Overall we enjoyed our stay but could have been even better.

We spent here two nights at the beginning of our trip in Iceland. The check-in is in a hotel a few metres down the street. The guesthouse is very comfortable, with an amazing (100% perfect) breakfast with fruit, salmon, bread, pastries and an amazing juice. Highly recommended!

So ein wunderschönes Gästehaus! Sehr geschmackvoll renovierte Zimmer mit eigenem Bad (leider nur durchs Zimmerfenster belüftet), großzügiger Ess- und Wohnbereich, ausgesprochen freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Zimmer 5 ist nix für Langschläfer, da an der Küchenrückwand gelegen und deshalb ab 6 Uhr eher laut.
Tolle Lage leicht erhöht überm Ort mit schönem Blick. Eine der schönsten Unterkünfte, die ich auf 14 Islandreisen erleben durfte.
Unbedingt das Frühstück dazu buchen - schmackhaft, vielseitig, schön angerichtet.

Amazing experience! The guesthouse was beautifully furnished with high quality materials, from the rooms to the shared living room and kitchen. The staff went above and beyond for us, even ensuring that we had dinner on Christmas Eve & Christmas day when all the restaurants would be closed. We had a fabulous stay. Each of our rooms had an en suite private bathroom with shower. Beds were incredibly comfortable and the down comforters were super warm and cozy. View from our room of the sky (& some Aurora!) and the second room, the adorable down of Stykkisholmer. Loved our stay here, we will definitely be back!
