The café is located inside a modern glass-walled building, which unfortunately creates a greenhouse effect on sunny days — it can get quite uncomfortably warm, especially when the sun is shining directly in.

The food options are fairly limited, mainly consisting of a few pizzas and soups. On our visit, the soup of the day was a traditional Icelandic stew featuring lamb cubes, swede, carrots, and some rice. It was served with a roll and butter, and while hearty, felt a bit overpriced at around 1,900 ISK.
It is self service with payment before food is given out.

Overall, it’s a quick and easy spot for a bite, with food that’s decent but nothing memorable. The interior is multifunctional — combining a café, gift shop, bookstore, and tourist information centre all in one space. Handy if you’re stopping by for info or souvenirs, but not ideal for a relaxed dining experience.

There is a free water refill dispenser here outside of the WC. You can bring your empty bottles here for a refill. The service centre has very helpful and friendly staff who explains on the national park tourist attractions.

Contrary to the other reviews, I had one of the best pecan pie here of my entire life. It was fresh, hot and crispy. We went back for seconds. Other than that coffee that is available is from the machine only.

Decent place for a quick bite to eat. Got the pizza for around 14 euros which is fair for Iceland prices.

This tourist information spot was just what we needed after a few days of driving, hiking, and scuba diving.

We came here not expecting anything but left quite happy and refreshed.

The staff was helpful and friendly. Their Traditional Meat Soup was all lamb, as expected. We've had a lot of lamb soup since we came here since we saw all the sheep roaming the fields and they were all let downs. This was the only place where the soup was enjoyable and didn't seem like they served us soup out of a can.

I highly recommend EVERYONE who is in need of a good, hearty lamb soup to try it if you're passing by.
